Bhuleshwar is a Hindu temple of Shiva, situated around 45 kilometers from Pune and 10 km from Pune Solapur highway from Yawat in Maharashtra, India. The temple is situated on a hill and was built in the 8th century. There are classical carvings on the walls. It has been declared as a protected monument.
The temple is also known for the folk-tale about it, when a bowl of sweet (pedhas) is offered to the Shiva Ling, one or more of the sweets disappear. Actor-travel writer Milind Gunaji writes about his experience with this in his book Mystical, Magical Maharashtra.
The temple also has an idol of Ganesha in female attire. It is popular as Ganeshwari or Lambodari or Ganeshyani. This temple is said to have been built in the 1200 century by King.
Ride Story
This was my first ride with The Storm Riderz and it’s the first ride of The Storm Riderz group. The ride started slowly with some hand instructions, some breakpoints for fueling and stops at key turns. Sudeep was captain, he led the ride, it took 30 mins to reach the destination.
The road towards the temple is very scenic and has average road quality with few potholes, 4km before the temple has sharp bends and it’s almost 2 km of this bends are very beautiful, and a necklace bend is very famous for a photoshoot.
Photography at this temple is not allowed inside the temple, however, you can shoot silently outside the temple. Shoes are not allowed and no entry ticket is required here. The view of the surrounding of this temple is very mesmerizing. The best time to go is in the morning to avoid the crowd. One can visit on any day of the year however the rainy season is something I recommend.
Free parking is available for cars and bikes near the temple.
TIP: Small elevated hill in front of the temple is good for photography and the view of the temple is very clear and makes the photos very interesting by setting the temple in the background.
