I have another wonderful trip to share with you and I will make sure to keep you updated and informed.
Day 1 – My trip to Bhigwan was planned with a wildlife sanctuary in the afternoon; fortunately, Mayureshwar was on our way and it was a very quiet place. Mayureswar Wildlife Sanctuary is in the Maharashtra district of Pune, in the Tehsil Baramati. We discovered many Chinkara and birds, and the view of this wildlife was breathtaking and one-of-a-kind. We ate our lunch on a nearby farm in the shade. We ate homemade biryani.
We arrived at Kumbhargaon, our final destination for camping and bird watching, at 4 p.m. The Bhigwan Bird Sanctuary is located on the Ujani Dam’s backwaters. We took a short break to enjoy some tea and cold drinks.
My prince Akshit, Aashray, and my friend Sanjay, along with his son Souham, accompanied me on this trip.

Tips for enhancing your experience
- You must be equipped with a good optical zoom camera to capture amazing pics.
- A binocular is also a good alternative.
- While on the boats, avoid making loud noises – whisper if a conversation is needed. Maintain a safe distance from the birds, and avoid using flash or flashlights.
Bird watching experience is awesome at Bhigwan!!.
Don’t miss the sunrise boat ride and beautiful photography in the early morning.
An evening boat ride is also memorable if you want to photograph the sunset or a bird with the Sun as a backdrop.
The peak season for these migratory birds is from January to March, but it varies year to year, so a phone call to the Nagare brothers is required.
A DSLR camera is required for photography, but bird enthusiasts can use any camera to capture images.
Throwing any man-made snacks into the water will harm the biodiversity.
An insect or mosquito repellent is required if you intend to sleep in a tent or on the verandah outside of rooms.
